We competed against the following schools: Team Burnet (Shady Grove Elementary and RJ Richey Elementary), Bertram Elementary, Llano Elementary, and Packsaddle Elementary. Comptroller Congratulates District At a meeting last week, Texas Comptroller Susan Combs congratulated Liberty Hill ISD officials for their success in combining high academic achievement with cost-effective operations. The results netted the district the five-star rating, the highest rating, in the 2011 Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST).
Rankings were assigned to 1,237 school districts and charter schools. Of those only 46 districts received the highest rating of five stars. Despite significant enrollment growth (63 percent in ten years), LHISD has achieved strong academic success, ranking in the top 20 percent in the state for composite student academic progress. Additionally, the statewide per-pupil operating expenditure increased by 37 percent, while LHISD's spending increased by only 14 percent. Click FASTEXAS.org for more details.
Flu Vaccines Available A limited supply of the flu vaccine is available to the public. The flu mist is available at no cost for children ages 2-18. For more information, please contact the school nurse at LH Elementary, Bill Burden Elementary, or LH Junior High.
Highly Qualified Teachers LHISD is pleased to report that 100 percent of teachers meet federal "highly qualified" requirements. The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) focuses on improving teacher quality at the local level. To achieve this goal, the act requires all teachers teaching core subject academic areas to meet specific competency and educational requirements. Teachers who meet these requirements are considered “highly qualified.” Teachers are required to be highly qualified if they are the Teacher of Record providing direct instruction to students in any core academic subject area, including English, reading or language arts, mathematics, science, foreign languages (languages other than English), civics and government, economics, arts, history, and geography. Highly qualified teachers must: hold at least a bachelor’s degree; be fully certified to teach in Texas; and demonstrate competency in their core academic subject area.
LHISD Receives "Recognized" Rating The Texas Education Agency awarded LHISD and each campus with a "Recognized" rating for the 2010-11 school year. The ratings are based on high school completion rates, dropout rates, and passing rates on the TAKS test. For more information about TAKS, accountability, and state-wide results, click here .
Skyward Family Access If you need your login or password, please review the FAQ before contacting the campus. If you need to create an account for the first time, the instructions and the printable form are posted here .
