Child Find

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires school districts to identify, locate, and evaluate all children between the ages of birth-age twenty-one who 1) have a disability, and 2) may require special education and related services. The Liberty Hill ISD provides special education and related services to eligible students between the ages of 3-21. Children with auditory or visual impairments may be served through the public school district in partnership early childhood intervention (ECI) programs from birth-age two prior to enrollment in the school district.

Children may be referred for evaluation through a variety of sources including a parent, pre-school program, pediatrician, teacher, or an ECI program.

If you suspect your child may have a disability, please contact your school counselor for information regarding supports for struggling students and the special education referral process.

For children not yet enrolled in the Liberty Hill ISD, please contact the Special Education Department for more information.
