2018-2019 Out of District Transfer Student

2018-2019 Out of District Transfer Student

A student whose primary residence does not fall within the Liberty Hill ISD boundary is considered “out of district,” and must complete the Out of District Transfer Application below in order to attend a Liberty Hill ISD school.

The decision for the District to accept out of district transfer students is made each year by the school board and is based upon the Chapter 41 (property wealthy/poor) status released by the Texas Education Agency in May. Therefore, an application must be submitted each year for consideration.

In order to be considered as an out of district transfer, all students (both new and returning) must have a completed application on file.  The out of district transfer application submission window will open February 12, 2018 and close on March 29, 2018.  All applications must be submitted by the March 29 deadline in order to be considered.  Notification for out of district transfer acceptance or denial will be mailed out the week of June 11, 2018.  Elementary students in grades PK-4 will receive their campus placement at that time.

Step 2:
If you are applying for a student who is not currently enrolled in a Texas Public or Charter school (private school, homeschool, out of state school, etc.), there will be additional documentation required for your application, which includes:

  • Attendance history:  We will need your student’s attendance for the 2017-2018 school year.
  • Discipline history:  If your student does not have a discipline history, a letter from the campus on letterhead stating there is no discipline record will be required.
  • Report cards/transcripts:  This will assist counselors in determining class placement for your student; these are not factors in determining transfer acceptance.  If attendance history is printed on the report card, submitting the report card is sufficient.
  • Special program documents:  If your student is in Special Education, Section 504, LEP, or other special programs, documentation from that program is needed to determine services required for your student.

Documentation will not be collected until April 30, 2018.   If your application requires additional documentation, you will be contacted the week of April 30th regarding what is needed.  You will then be responsible for obtaining the requested documentation from your student’s current school.  The deadline for all documentation is May 14, 2018.

Documentation can be submitted through one of the following methods:

  • US Mail/In Person:  Send the documents by mail or bring them in person to the following address:

    Liberty Hill ISD - Transfers
    301 Forrest St.
    Liberty Hill, TX 78642
  • Fax:  Fax the documents to 512-260-5587, ATTN: Transfers
