  • Superintendent's Message

The beginning of a new school year is filled with high hopes and expectations. The children are excited, the teachers and staff are eager, and the parents are hopeful and, admit it, a little relieved to have the kids back in school.

We are kicking this year off with a bang with our new campus and district ratings from the Texas Education Agency.  August 1, TEA announced the following ratings for Liberty Hill ISD:

    ·         Liberty Hill Elementary    Exemplary

    ·         Bill Burden Elementary    Exemplary

    ·         Liberty Hill Intermediate  Exemplary

    ·         Liberty Hill Junior High     Recognized

    ·         Liberty Hill High School    Recognized

    ·         Liberty Hill ISD                  Recognized

We are very proud of our students’ accomplishments. LHISD has a tradition of success in everything we do from academics to extracurricular activities. We plan to build on that success and continue to improve.  We want LHISD to be a place where students learn to work hard, be involved, have fun, show respect, collaborate with and care about others, take personal responsibility, and contribute to making the school and the world a better place.

Students have more success when schools forge strong relationships with students, families, and the community.  We are very fortunate to have a community that supports our schools, dedicated school board members who work diligently to provide the best for Liberty Hill students, parents who are involved with their children, and caring, talented staff members who are dedicated to providing students with the best educational experience possible. Best of all, we have a great group of kids!

We see parents as true partners in the education of their children. It is important that your child knows that education is a top priority for you. Spend time everyday with your child visiting about what is going on at school.  To be successful, students must begin practicing good study habits both in school and out of school and must strive to do their very best at everything they attempt.  Attendance and punctuality are essential for success. Please see that your child attends school every day possible. Encourage your child to make the most of his or her school experience by being involved in a variety of activities.

Each campus will schedule an open house, and I encourage you to attend and visit with your child’s teachers. Throughout the year, attend as many school events as possible. Support both academics and extracurricular activities.

Our parent/community volunteers contribute immensely to student success. If your schedule permits, consider volunteering in the schools. Parent volunteers also serve on campus and district committees including the planning committees, Safe and Drug Free Schools Committee, and the Title I Parent Involvement Committee. If you are interested in serving on a committee at the district level, contact the curriculum director, Claudeane Braun. For campus committees, contact the building principal.

I wish for each of you the best school year ever.

    Rob Hart, EdD

    Superintendent
