Response to Intervention -- RTI

The Response to Intervention (RtI)  system is an early intervention and identification framework developed to address and support academic and behavioral challenges for all students.  The RtI process begins with high-quality instruction and universal screening of all children in the general education classroom (Tier 1). Learners who are struggling are provided with interventions at increasing levels of intensity to accelerate the rate of learning.  Decisions about the intensity and duration of interventions are based on individual student response to instruction.

A fundamental principle of RtI processes is to ensure that all children have access to high quality instruction.  Liberty Hill ISD is committed to high levels of learning for all students through effective, highly engaging, rigorous classroom instruction.  Through that practice, the RtI framework ensures student academic and/or behavioral needs are identified, supported, and served early and effectively. Successful implementation of the RtI process will result in increased professional learning and collaboration, improved instructional practices, increased student achievement, and a school culture where ALL means ALL.
