School Health Advisory Council
Liberty Hill Independent School District (Liberty Hill ISD) School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is a committee of community, parents, and district representatives who meet a minimum of once each quarter to provide advice to the district on coordinated school health services and its impact on student health and learning.
The Liberty Hill ISD School Board approved the SHAC Committee Members, led by SHAC Chair Heather Koneshek, at the November Board Meeting.
General meetings are open to the public. Members of the community wishing to speak must arrive before the meeting begins and sign up for a 3 minute presentation to the committee.
Additional Information Regarding SHAC
Every independent school system is required by law to have a School District Health Advisory Council; of which the majority of members must be parents who are not employed by the school district. Title 2, Chapter 28, Section 28.004 of the Texas Education Code details the specifics of this mandate. For additional information, see the SHAC Guide for Texas School Districts.
