How do I enroll a new student?

Can I enroll my new student(s) in person at a campus?
No. All new student enrollment is done online via the Registration Gateway portal found on the LHISD website. Please refer to the New Student Enrollment page for details.

How old does my child need to be to start Kindergarten?
Your student must be 5 by September 1st to start Kindergarten.

My student was a Liberty Hill ISD student, unenrolled from the district, and now wants to return to school. How do I enroll him/her?
Please read the circumstances detailed below to determine which best describes your situation:
- Students who are unenrolled from Liberty Hill ISD on or prior to 5/27/21 will be considered a "New Student" for the 2021-2022 school year and MUST complete the New Student Enrollment process.
- During the school year, if a new student is enrolled into the district, withdraws from school, and then chooses to return to school within 30 days of being withdrawn, the student will be considered a "Returning Student" and will not have to re-enroll. Your student's campus will be able to answer any questions that you may have about this process.

My student doesn't reside within the Liberty Hill ISD attendance zone boundaries. Can I still send my student to Liberty Hill ISD?
Any student whose primary residence does not fall within the Liberty Hill Independent School District attendance zone boundaries would be considered an "Out of District Transfer Student."
At this time, Liberty Hill ISD is not accepting any new out of district transfer students into the district.Visit the Out of District Transfer Student FAQ's page for details.

Who can enroll my student?
Any parent(s) or designee can enroll a new student. The individual must provide a valid government-issued photo identification at the time of enrollment by uploading a copy through the Registration Gateway portal.

What documentation do I need to enroll my student?
- Valid government issued photo identification of parent/guardian(s) or photo ID of person registering if not the parent/guardian
- Student birth certificate
- Complete Immunization Record signed by a licensed physician (State of Texas Immunization Requirements)
- Current proof of residency (current lease agreement, utility bill, water bill, etc; additional examples are available)
- Student Social Security Card
- Most recent report card/transcript
- If Applicable Legal Documentation (custody agreement/personal protective order, etc)
- Pre-Kindergarten ONLY: Pre-kindergarten Program Eligibility documents (if applicable - more information is available)

Can I select which elementary campus my student will attend?
No. A student will attend the elementary school that they are zoned to based on their primary residence. Additional information regarding attendance can be located on the Attendance Zone FAQ's page.

Free/Reduced Meal information
General information can be located on the Child Nutrition Services page.
Free/Reduced Meal Applications for the 2020-2021 school year will be available on August 1, 2020 via Skyward Family Access for existing LHISD students.
Skyward Family Access accounts are only available to students who have completed the online New Student Enrollment process through Registration Gateway and have received confirmation from the registrar that the registration has been processed before an account can be requested.
