Meet our Principal
Mrs. Tanya Lambert
I grew up in Royse City, Texas, about 35 miles northeast of Dallas. Following high school, I attended Tarleton State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and later a Master of Education degree in Counseling. Through the years, I have taught 1st grade, worked as a reading and math specialist, and served as a school counselor before becoming an assistant principal in 2015 at Miss May Vernon Elementary School in Fate, Texas. The move to the Austin area brought my family to Liberty Hill, which has quickly become our home.
I am the mom of four beautiful children, Jacob, Olivia, Ella, and Ava. My husband, Michael, and I love to spend time outdoors and follow our kids, and all the Liberty Hill sports teams, all over the state. Mission work is a passion for me and my family. My daughters and I have travelled to Haiti to serve a school and church in Chambellan.
I'm thrilled to be the principal of Bill Burden Elementary, and I love being a Panther!
Meet our Assistant Principals
Mrs. Elizabeth DeFrancisis
Welcome to Bill Burden Elementary School! I am so happy to be serving our community in the capacity of Assistant Principal. It is my pleasure to help lead Burden students forward in their academic, social, and emotional goals.
Originally from the Detroit area, I earned my BS in Microbiology from Michigan State University, and began my teaching career in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, teaching Biology and Chemistry. I moved to the Austin area in 2008 and taught Biology at East View HS in Georgetown. Upon completion of my Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University, my husband, also an educator, and I spent a year as department heads and teachers in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. I returned to Texas in the department of Curriculum and Instruction for Tyler ISD from 2013-2016, before having the pleasure of joining Liberty Hill ISD as Assistant Principal at Bill Burden Elementary.
As Assistant Principal, I am here to support student growth and development by facilitating a safe and respectful school environment, where all students will receive the best possible academic instruction. My goal is to empower students to take ownership of their learning, to think critically, and work together to solve problems. These skills will enable them to be successful now as well as in their future career. I am proud to be a part of the Bill Burden Elementary community, where our students can learn and grow in a supportive environment.
Mrs. Heather Wright
I am so excited to be part of the Bill Burden team for 2019-2020! I have a Bachelors in English and French from THE University of Texas (Go Horns!) and a Masters in Educational Leadership from West Texas A&M University. I've been fortunate to work in 5 different districts in Texas over my career, so I've seen lots of fantastic teaching! I have worked at all levels, pre-K through high school, in my 26 years in education and am thrilled to be working with elementary students again. In my spare time, you can find me playing at the lake, watching Harry Potter movies, or reading a book. My husband and I are the proud parents of 3 children, ages 22, 18, and 16, and 2 dogs. I'm passionate about literacy and student achievement. I look forward to getting to know the Bill Burden community of students, families, and staff.
