Hello Panther Nation,
We hope everyone is doing well today. Monday night at the School Board meeting, the Trustees approved moving the District to Phase 3 of the COVID protocols. Phase 3 allows parents to have the option of wearing a mask at optional events such as field days and end-of-year award ceremonies and parties. In addition, Governor Abbott issued another mask order this week that goes into effect on June 4th. Details of the mask order and Phase 3 are inside the newsletter.
Please read Superintendent Snell's Board Brief to recap the meeting and the new Phase 3 protocols. As always, we appreciate your support as we continue to make adjustments to help our students and staff's success and well-being.
April 22, 2021 10:30 AMPlease take a minute to read the board briefs from the meeting on Monday. Teacher contracts were voted on, several student and staff celebrations, and technology orders were just some of the meeting highlights. This was the last board meeting for David Nix, who has served 13 years on the board and has been a tremendous champion for the students and staff of LHISD. He will be missed.

ATTENTION; Panther Family-
Liberty Hill ISD will be closed for Students, Monday, Feb. 22 and will be a staff workday due to water loss and the storm hardships our Panther families are struggling with right now. The extended water and power outages have made this difficult for our community, and we understand our families need to recover personally before any learning can occur. The staff workday will allow our operations to complete necessary tasks, food service deliveries, and teachers to adjust lesson plans and prepare for a Tuesday reopening.
We are thankful the majority of our facilities did not sustain significant damages and have power and water. Still, we have three campuses and four buildings without water due to the City of Liberty Hill outages.
Campuses and Buildings without water:
· Liberty Hill Elementary
· Liberty Hill Intermediate
· Liberty Hill Junior High
· Central Administration Offices
· Maintenance Building
· Technology Building
· Transportation Building
LHISD is working with the City of Liberty Hill to restore the water as soon as possible. With this in mind, please read the schedule for the campus(s) your child attends below.

Due to school closure this week, we will be extending the six-week grading period until Friday, February 26th. This will provide teachers and students with the opportunity to complete the planned learning and assessments for this grading period. New students or remote students who are currently remote and are planning to return in person will report back on Monday, March 1st.
Keep doing the best you can for yourself and others, we will get through this.
