Grievances

Grievances

The Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees encourages employees, parents, and community members to address concerns and grievances through informal conferences with the appropriate teacher, principal, or administrator.

Disclaimer: LHISD has received new guidance from the Texas Association of School Boards and the Texas Education Agency. As a result, we will be amending our policies in early 2026.

Concerns should be raised as early as possible to allow for timely resolution at the lowest administrative level. While informal resolution is encouraged, it does not alter or extend the timelines outlined in the District’s formal grievance policies. If an informal resolution is achieved, the Complainant/Grievant may withdraw the formal complaint at any time.

All complaints will be addressed in accordance with Board Policy DGBA(LOCAL), Board Policy FNG(LOCAL), Board Policy GF(LOCAL), or any exceptions noted therein. Neither the Board of Trustees nor any District employee shall unlawfully retaliate against an individual for bringing forward a concern or complaint.

If you have questions regarding the grievance process or require assistance in procuring contact information for a specific administrator, please contact the Liberty Hill ISD Communications Department by calling 512-260-5580 or by emailing the team here.

  • Even after initiating the formal complaint process, the Complainant/Grievant is encouraged to continue seeking an informal resolution of their concerns.

The most direct route to resolving any campus or department-level concern is to first confer directly with the involved party (employee, teacher, coach, sponsor, administrator). The majority of concerns are resolved via a face-to-face meeting or email. Either party may also request a conference with a campus-level administrator.

Most issues can be resolved by contacting the teacher, coach, guidance counselor, or other relevant personnel. The campus principal or assistant principal can often resolve many matters informally.

For general inquiries or if you're unsure which department to contact, please call Liberty Hill ISD’s main line at 512-260-5580.
