Liberty Hill ISD Proposition A passes in the November 2025 election: Thank you LHISD voters!

LIBERTY HILL, Texas -- Liberty Hill ISD voters have approved Proposition A in the November 2025 election, with results showing 52.19% in favor. This approval provides $10.7 million in new revenue to help restore student programming, maintain safety and security, and recruit and retain high-quality staff. This election will generate additional funding each year to support students and staff.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by our families, staff, local businesses, and residents,” said LHISD Interim Superintendent Travis Motal. “Prop A is an investment in our schools and in our entire community. With these funds, we will begin restoring the cuts made over the last two years and set the district on a more stable path going forward.”

Since 2019, LHISD has faced considerable financial strain due to insufficient state funding, rising inflation, and underfunded mandates. The district cut $8 million and realized a $2 million deficit, including the elimination of 70 positions in the last two years. While House Bill 2, passed last spring, increased funding by $55 per student, rising costs have exceeded that increase by more than $1,400 per student. A previous voter-approved tax ratification election in 2024 did not pass.

With the passage of Prop A, LHISD will begin reinstating positions and programs that were previously reduced or eliminated. The restoration process will take time, and the district asks for the community’s patience as it evaluates which programs and services will be prioritized. This work will take place as the district also prepares to open two new campuses next year.

“We look forward to implementing the priorities of Prop A and continuing to prepare every student to be the best versions of themselves,” said LHISD Board President Megan Parsons. “We are committed to fulfilling our vision to build champions in academics, character and community as we make decisions about how to best serve students, staff and families.”
