Welcome Back Panther Nation!

First Week of School

We're back at school and better than ever! Our Panthers rocked their first week back at Liberty Hill ISD with non-stop fun, laughter, and endless good times! From classroom giggles to cafeteria chats, it's clear that this year is going to be an absolute blast. The adventures have begun!

Opening Bar W

Liberty Hill ISD as we proudly opened the doors of Bar W Elementary to welcome our incredible Bar W Family to their brand-new home on the first day of school. The energy was palpable, and we could hardly contain our excitement!

None of this would have been possible without the dedication, hard work, and unwavering support of our amazing community. A massive THANK YOU to each and every individual who played a part in making this dream a reality. Your contributions truly "Raised the Bar" and allowed us to open our doors right on schedule.

Stadium Rules and Responsibilities

We are so excited to welcome our students and families back to another great year of Panther football! To ensure we provide the safest and most enjoyable experience for all, we request that everyone abide by the following rules:

  • Children in eighth grade and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

  • Spectators are not allowed to be on the upper deck area near the press box during the games as this area is reserved for media and game workers only.

  • Only credentialed authorized personnel will be allowed on the field or in the press box area before the game, at halftime, or after the game. Individuals on the field or surrounding area must present a sidelines pass. Each school is responsible for their sideline.

  • No one under the age of 18 years old may enter the press box – with the exception of authorized personnel.

  • Students should remain in the stands with their parents or friends and should not be loitering under the bleachers or blocking walkways or stairwells.

  • No cannons, train horns, laser pointers or confetti allowed.

Thank you for your support in helping us make this the most successful year yet!

Making Safe Choices

Striving for Social Media App Safety

Recently a couple of social media applications have been making headlines.

A new TikTok challenge encourages students to tell a teacher that there is a gun or bomb in their backpack as a “joke.” We want to remind our families that Liberty Hill ISD takes all threats of violence very seriously. Any form of threatening statements may constitute in individuals receiving felony criminal charges and can impact a person’s future for a lifetime.

The calendar/schedule sharing app called Saturn is making waves causing parents to question how safe it is for their children. Here are some things to consider from an Aug. 23 review from Bark (a parental control platform).

  • Recommended age for use: 14 and up
  • Potential harmful content such as cyberbullying
  • Immediately requests to connect with Snapchat account
  • Saturn states that they use email verification to verify students are in high school; however, at many schools (to include LHISD), email verification is not possible because the schools don't allow outside apps to use student emails for verification.
  • There are other calendar apps that can help students organize their day without being digitally connected to their whole school in an app that has such a high possibility for predation.
  • The whole point of the app is to connect with other student's and view their schedule. It also allows kids to connect with other social media apps on their profile - limiting privacy.
  • Virtually no parental controls.

We encourage our students to make safe, wise decisions and to ask a parent, guardian or teacher if they have any questions or concerns about challenges or things they see on social media.

SMART Rider Program

Did you know that approximately 5,000 students utilize Liberty Hill ISD bus services each school day? That’s a lot of kids! Our transportation team is honored to be part of our students’ beginning and end of each school day. Our drivers get to know their students and enjoy providing a safe, healthy, positive environment for them each and every day. In an effort to work together with our students to maintain this environment, we are implementing a new program called “SMART Bus Rider”.

Sharing this new plan with our bus riders will help students understand the boundaries the transportation department has set for our riders and the consequences of violating these requirements.

Smart Rider signs have been added to the buses and at the campuses near the door that exits to the bus loop or bus loading area. See an example here: SMART Bus Rider To learn more about this program, click HERE.

LHISD takes a proactive approach to House Bill 3

Beginning Sept. 1, Texas legislature requires that all public schools must have at least one armed security officeon campus during regular school hours. Liberty Hill ISD has felt strongly about being proactive about the safety and security of our students and staff, therefore, in the spring of 2018 the Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a police officer with the intent that we would continue to grow this department over the coming years. This past summer, our Board approved additional positions which will allow for one LHISD police officer per campus. Check out this article for more details.
